Buchan South Avenue of Honour
Remembering the ultimate sacrifice made by our soldiers in all the wars. Anzac Day and Remembrance Day Ceremonies held each year. The Avenue of Honour consists of two rows of English oaks planted in 1920. Available for weddings.

Buchan Cemetery Trust
The cemetery is run by trust members and the Department of Health. The trust keeps the grounds clean and tidy. Working bee every 2 months. Meeting are held when needed.

Regular working bees are held over the year to keep the cemetery looking tidy and weed free. Working bees and fundraising events.

Friends of Buchan Caves Inc.
The friends work inside and outside the caves to improve the Reserve for ourselves and visitors. Friends of reserves who assist in improving facilities and features for visitors. We work inside and outside the caves. Activities include the re lighting of Federal Cave, new walking tracks, cleaning in caves and brochures. This can be a great opportunity to spend time in our caves with speleologists (cave experts) and learn more about them and explore off the tourist pathways.

Friends of the Cobberas
We are a group of volunteers from all walks of life, who are interested in the conservation of the Cobberas and adjacent areas of the Alpine National Park. www.friendscobberas.com.au
Provide support to the management of the Alpine National Park
Assist the Rangers with special projects and activities in the Park
Foster public awareness of the Park and its’ associated issues
Bring together people with a mutual interest in the Alpine National Park
The Friends of the Cobberas is under the umbrella of the Victorian National Parks Association and is supported by Parks Victoria.
What do we do?
- Environmental monitoring and surveys

Buchan Heritage Group
Raising funds and holding working bees to restore many of Buchan’s old buildings and gather records. Also owners of the Buchan Butter Factory. This group work to collect and retain the history of the area and are working on the restoration of the butter factory which will be used and is used for displays and to store memorabilia. Meetings are held 2nd Tuesday of each month.

Living Library
For firsthand knowledge on anything in this area contact the library for local expert help. Leona helps others who live away to contact relatives here or find their ancestors, old properties, old stories. Leona only deals with the history of this district and in finding friends and family. Leona researches old graves, births and deaths, the cemetery inhabitants using the phone, letters and a network of 226 past contacts who exchanged history and send photos back to the Living Library. This is Leona’s personal project. “Anyway l can help you to settle in this beautiful valley l will do my best to answer your query or give away help regarding local information”

Victorian Farmers Federation
The Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) is the largest state farmer organisation in Australia, representing over 10,000 members who live and work on more than 6,000 farm businesses situated across Victoria.
The VFF is an active, powerful lobby group dedicated to the interests of farmers and making a difference to communities. With a strong record of successful political advocacy and leadership, the VFF has generated substantial benefits for the agriculture sector since its formation in 1979. The VFF consists of seven Commodity Groups – Dairy (United Dairyfarmers of Victoria), Livestock, Grains, Horticulture (incorporating Flowers Victoria), Chicken Meat, Eggs and Pigs – as well as four Committee groups – Water, Land Management, Farm Business and Rural Development and Farm Security. VFF has approximately 200 branches across the state.
